Prostate Cancer UK also provides fantastic support for patients in the form of access to their specialist nurses, lots of information leaflets (available online or posted to you), and a variety of other support services.

Other Support Groups
The Luton and Dunstable Prostate Support Group works closely with both The FOPS (at Chorleywood) and the Mount Vernon Prostate Cancer Support Group. Members of these groups are invited to each others events, and you are welcome to join these other two groups which you can do through LDPSG. The FOPS support meetings on Zoom are always a Q&A session with consultant urologists, and MVPCSG generally covers oncology/radiotherapy patients, of which Mount Vernon Cancer Centre is a specialist centre which covers the Luton and Dunstable area.
There are other support groups which might also be of interest to some members.
Beds Prostate Cancer Support Group meets on the second Monday of each month in Bedford, which may be useful for those living or working nearer to Bedford, or being treated at Bedford or Addenbrooks hospitals. This group also runs periodic PSA testing events in Bedfordshire and Luton.
Active Surveillance online support group for men on Active Surveillance. Meets monthly on Zoom.
Prostate Brachytherapy UK Support Group is a group for patients who have had brachytherapy, or who are considering brachytherapy. The group caters for both LDR/seed/permanent brachytherapy, and HDR/temporary brachytherapy. It meets every other month on Zoom. Contact support@prostate-brachytherapy.uk if you would like to join the group.
Metro Walnut, a support group for LGBTQ+ prostate cancer patients and their partners. The group currently meets twice a month, once on Zoom, and once in-person in London. Out With Prostate Cancer is a similar group based in Manchester which has hybrid monthly Zoom meetings, and also welcomes straight men.
Prostate Pedallers is a prostate cancer support group which is aiming at getting prostate cancer patients fit through cycling. It doesn't matter if you haven't cycled since you were a teenager, or don't even have a bike, Prostate Pedallers will bring you up to speed, and provide a great environment for men to talk openly with each other. They are based at Whipsnade/Ashridge, and so quite near to Dunstable. Several of our members are also members of Prostate Pedallers.
Living Well with Advanced Prostate Cancer is a group for patients who have advanced prostate cancer with metastasis. It meets every month on Zoom. Contact aidan.adkins@tackleprostate.org if you would like to join the group.
National Prostate Cancer Partners Support Group is a group for partners of patients only (and not the patients themselves). Partners need support too in coping with prostate cancer in their family, which is different from that required by prostate cancer patients. The group meets quarterly on Zoom.
Prostate Cancer UK Online Community is an online forum for posting questions and making comments. Although almost entirely patients, the quality and accuracy of information in this community tends to be good, but remember these are not clinicians.
FOR MEN TO TALK offers a chance for men suffering with anxiety, depression and grief to talk with other fellow sufferers.
